Authors Notes
Rules
Study Total = Intelligence + Concentration + Quality
(add to current experience. Cannot advance more than 3 levels per season)
- Summa
-
Cannot study from unless your level is more than their score. Cannot raise you above their score.
Quality = Communication + Scribe + 3
- Libra Quaestionum
-
Useless unless your level is close to their Target Level.
Study Total has quality - (difference between your level and the target level) * 5
Scribing takes one season.
quality = Communication + Scribe + 6; target level not more than one third of your art.
- Tractartus
-
You need to know the spell they are written about. They work whatever your art score.
Scribing takes one season, and you must have mastered the spell. The art the tractartus is about will then be the higher of the two involved in casting the spell.
The quality of the work is the magnitude of the spell used, which may not be higher than your Communication + Scribe.
It would therefore be folly to compare Summae, Tractartus and LQ's directly by level and quality.
Instruction in the arts of Creo
Instruction in the arts of Intelligo
Instruction in the arts of Rego
Instruction in the arts of Aquam
Instruction in the arts of Auram
Instruction in the arts of Corporem
A summa, with a level of eighteen, and a quality of nine.- A Libra Quaestionum, with target level 6, and quality 10.
[This is in 'blood Red, moon white' a Diedne book which mysteriously was untouched in the fire]
- A Tractartus upon "Seven-League Stride", heavily charred, so quality only 4.
[The spell is in our library]
Instruction in the arts of Herbam
- A summa, score 4, quality 5; written by our own Dimitri.
Instruction in the arts of Ignem
Instruction in the arts of Imaginem
Instruction in the arts of Mentem
"A theory of human Motivation", a summa - score of 8, and quality of 8; written by the happy little death machine.
- This book also contains a tractartus upon "Peering into the Mortal Minds", heavily charred, hence only third magnitude.
Instruction in the arts of Terram
Instruction in the arts of Vim
- A summa, score 5, quality 6; written by Gwyntar ex Bonisagus.
- A summa, score 10, quality 8; written by Gwyntar ex Bonisagus. [On close examination - it was slightly damaged]
- A Libra Quaestionum, with target level 2, and quality 13.
(This is a one volume Intelligo-Vim LQ)
Our library currently is sadly lacking in several key areas - The techniques of Muto and Perdo; as well as the forms of Animal and Mentem have completely voided our shelves.
(And the books we DO have are, mostly, useless.)
Mundane Library
The study total is calculated in the same way; except that it is then divided by 5.
- Gallic Wars by Caesar - a tractartus upon warfare, quality nine.
- A summa upon Chirurgery, with score 3 and quality 8.
- A summa upon hermetic law, score 1 and quality 15. [Strangely - the fire seems to have improved this books quality - expounding its stupidity]
- A summa upon medicine, with score 4 and quality 6.
- A tractartuis upon Magic Theory, with quality of four; written by Gwyntars apprentice She's able to write a better book on the subject than me! What are you feeding her Gwyntar?

This catologue was written up origionally by
Gwyntar;
who also copied out many of the books described herein.
The Wanderer
then copied it into a computer readable form; once it had mostly stabilised.
He then passed it on to me, Adam, to add all of the hyperlinks and so forth, which I did.
So I guess that means you should moan at me if it's incorrect / broken in any way.
Unfortunately, Vitenka offerred to turn this list into a form most of the characters could use. He did, so helping the covenant of Animus Silvae, but he also added sarcastic comments around the place. So don't take offence at them.
